I’m just asking….
Why do people get offended by God?
What is it that makes people so angry?
Are we supposed to forget that this world was created by Him?
That he does exist?
What is it about Faith that is so scary?
Why is it so hard to embrace?
Should we forget that He’s the reason why we celebrate life?
That Jesus gave his life for ours?
So what if you didn’t ask him to

Most people believe in a Higher Power, whatever that may be
But doesn’t it All lead to Him?
God forbid that one day we won’t have the freedom to express ourselves
The freedom to write our opinions
Are we supposed to forget that he exists?
Will there be someone going from house to house
to make sure that we do what They say
Where will it end?
I’m just asking, not preaching.

I don’t need a lecture, just honest comments
I don’t claim to be what I’m not
I’m not a born-again Christian; I’m not a Baptist or a Missionary
But one thing I know for sure
What I feel inside
For him
I’m not trying to convert you
I’m just saying
So many times we make things out to be more than they are
Maybe it’s time to stop having pity parties
You might be closer to him than you know
I don’t have to be like others
Who say they are of him or for him
I am my own individual
I’m not perfect, nor is he
And he loves me just the same
Life
All around me that I see
The air that I breathe
His love is everywhere
Why do you question your own existence?
Only question your purpose
You are who you are
Just find yourself, be true to yourself
Just be

Perfection, in a Sunrise
Perfection, in a Sunset
Perfection, in a babies smile
Perfection, in the surfer eyes
Perfection, a perfect world?
Perfection, till someone dies
Perfection, once was but not now
Perfection, came in human skin
Perfection, died and rose again
Perfection, perfect without sin
Perfection, hung upon a cross
Perfection, died for those who are lost
Perfection, in his solitary tear
Perfection, whispered in your ear
Perfection, says, "I love you"
Perfection, means every word
Perfection, is His name
Perfection, is His way
Perfection, dying rose
Perfection, living in our clothes
Perfection, through the mist of doubt
Perfection, calls your name right now
Perfection, says just three words in truth
Perfection, I
Perfection, love
Perfection, you
I love you

Very insightful. I see a far greater problem however, just how many believers don't take their christianity seriously. I've been amazed this last 6 or 7 years online by just how few believers get involved in any kind of discussion about God's kingdom or christian living. If any of us were to consider tithing our time, what part of our day is dedicated to pursuing godly things? I'm amazed by how many believers state they truly believe Jesus could return @ any time, but live like He'll never return.

I think quite the opposite...I think some christians take their christianity too seriously. Check out the article I just posted on Spongebob for example. This christian group went out on a limb bashing that a cartoon causes children to become homosexual. What about the radicals who take the bible word for word and preach how it's bad to have a tatoo. what's the big freaking deal?I could go on forever but I'm not. ...have a great day!

Wayne, Alison, thank you. It is true that not many people like to discuss God or his kingdom. Religion, like politics is such a taboo subject by so many and the few that do discuss it might end up saying hateful things to each other. It's unfortunate that this is one topic that there seems to be no way to just meet half way and hear each others views without chomping at the bit - to coin a phrase. I wrote it because of how I felt at the time, and still do, and because of all that's going on around us.

You're right Alison, some people are at the point of obsession. It's quite a turn off for those who would love to have a stimulating, intellectual (or not) conversation about God. What's the sense of freaking out as you ask? None, really. I think people should not be so zealous. Just accept each other and agree to disagree.
